ISAP – INDIVIDUAL SCOUT ADVANCEMENT PLAN

An ISAP is an adjusted plan for the requirements for advancement customized for the specific scout. Remember, modifications to the requirements should only be made when necessary, and in cub scouts the scout is always only required to do his best. (Boy Scouting has different rules for advancement).

HOW DO I MAKE AN ISAP

1.    Review all of the requirements for the scout to advance to the next rank

2.    Have a Scout, Parent, & Leader Meeting to review the requirements and discuss the requirements, his abilities and disabilities, and the where modifications may be necessary.

3.    Write out the plan (at the meeting if possible)

a.    Only document where changes or special considerations are needed.  Go over  the expectations.

b.    Assign the necessary modifications, but keep it challenging

c.    Assign a Time Frame to complete and to review the plan

d.    Document it

4.    Get the plan approved by the Cubmaster and Committee Chair

5.    Review and Update the ISAP Regularly
